New Year’s Eve 2012, we gathered in Burson, California to firewalk and ring in the New Year.
This is what we start with:

Check out this post:
These are some intense, awesome pictures. Enjoy!
I used the continuous feature on the camera. Many of these are taken maybe a second apart, so you can actually get the feeling of the fire moving. Some of the photos are with a flash the others are not. I also used the night photo option.
And this is what we walked on bridging the gap between 2012 & 2013:

When there were only enough coals for one more walk, we stilled the instruments, stopped singing and shouted out our wish for 2013 as we walked across the coals one last time. This was echoed back by the group. As the goals burned down, the air got colder, our feet colder still from the damp earth, the 30+ of us felt united by our experience and our wishes of peace, good health, tolerance, having fun, happiness and love for the year to come. I wanted to share this with those of you that could not physically be there with me, but were with me in spirit. Aho!

Wow! That pretty much sums it up.
After reading your comment, I thought you might like that post. I had a really hard time pulling myself away from the fire (obviously)! Then, when it got to the last photo, we all walked across it – I did it 4 times and I didn’t get burned. It was amazing. I highly recommend the experience for anyone who is seduced by fire.
Tempted, for I have been seduced before and will be seduced again, but… I’ve been burned too. I think I’d need a bit of peer pressure and maybe a little (lot) of some liquid courage before I’d talk myself into doing some fire walking.
Love it! Beautifully poetic with such lovely double meanings.
No liquid courage allowed until after the walk. By then you are so naturally high – it’s not needed.
From what I gathered listening to conversations around me – people actually seek out firewalking events. It has something of it’s own following.
