Experientialist: a collector of experiences, especially one-of-a-kind.
Yes, I am still in the process of getting the computer set up to my satisfaction. However, now I am faced with something else. I live in the portion of California where there is a fire by Yosemite National Forest. However, the media (not the local media) doesn’t even bother to mention that residents of Tuolumne County have been evacuated, or are on advisory evacuation status. The fire has doubled in size in 24 hours and is now the 15th worst fire in California, ever. The smoke is getting so bad that my voice shatters, thank goodness I didn’t have to sing today.
The other thing is mentally preparing myself for the possible loss of my home and belongings. Thank goodness I haven’t gotten any egg laying birds like I was planning. Just me and the cat (more on him later). It is a double edged sword this possible loss. Boy talk about having a lighter load! All I would have to do is rent a room, not a house! Re-locating would be a cinch! But the “things” and the memories that come with them, will I miss the “things” and forget the memories? I don’t have a lot of “stuff”, but I have wanted to downsize, however this brings a different meaning to that!
Well, I will keep you posted if I can. Please send good thoughts my way when you think about it. I have a highway near me – 2 miles away – it is highway 108 – all towns on the south side are now under advisory evacuation status. I’m on the north side and that is all that is standing between me and advisory evacuation status.
Tomorrow will be a busy day of decisions, documenting and breathing this awful smoke that makes my vocal chords sound like they have shattered when I talk.
